Hotel software, built where it is used.
Rooms24 is built for independent properties — the ones running a front desk themselves rather than through a chain's system. An independent property needs two things a chain gets for free: somewhere guests can find and book it, and a system to run it once they arrive. Buying those separately is why most small properties end up with three vendors and a spreadsheet holding them together.
What we decided
The choices, and what each one cost.
Isolation is worth the cost
A database per property is more expensive to run and more work to migrate than one shared schema. We took that cost because the alternative puts every property one bad query away from a data breach, and no amount of code review makes that risk zero.
Own the whole path a guest takes
It would have been far quicker to sell a back office and leave the website, the booking flow and the distribution to vendors an owner finds themselves. That is three bills and nobody accountable when the booking widget stops writing to the system. We took the longer build so there is one place to point when something breaks.
No cut of your bookings
We could take a percentage of every reservation, and we would earn more from a property having a good year than we do now. We charge a flat subscription instead, which means we make the same whether your season is strong or thin — and it means the incentive to keep you findable is ours to prove rather than something you pay for twice.
An audit trail is for you
Every action records who took it, and retention only ever extends. That exists so a property can answer its own questions about a shift, a charge or a cancellation — not so we can.
Where we are
Early, and saying so.
The admin panel runs the property: front desk, folios, rooms and rates, menus, inventory, staff and payroll, roles, payments and reporting. The guest-facing half runs alongside it — your own bookable website, live chat with the people staying with you, an assistant that can take a booking, and your listing in the traveller app.
We are still early as a company, and that is the useful part for you rather than the risk: the properties running on Rooms24 now shape what gets built next and in which order. That stops being true once there are thousands of them.
